Meet Claire.
Claire has a development disability and was in a tragic accident right before Christmas. She may be permanently in a wheelchair now.
I heard about Claire’s story thru a group I belong to that sends Love Bombs to people in need. This story hit me and I wanted to do more. I brought it up with some Plurk friends about her story and how maybe we could do something for her. Even if it’s just prayer, or a card, or money, or a knit/crochet item. Someone mentioned we could call ourselves Claire’s Crafters and anyone can help who would like to. I created a Ravelry group for anyone who wants to keep track of any items they make.
I sent an email to Claire’s mom asking her if it was OK to use their pictures, etc and explained what we wanted to do. She was really appreciative and said whatever help would be appreciated. If you go to their blog

you can see all the changes that have to be made to the house to accommodate Claire. And they will desperately need to buy a wheelchair accessible van. I’m hoping that if everyone pitches in they can get what they need sooner rather than later.

So if you are on Ravelry, come check out her group and join us!

I am now working on a crochet Hello Kitty scarf for Claire. I haven’t gotten enough completed yet to show you.
Formspring Friday! These are the questions I was given today and my answers. Please join us at Formspring.com if you’d like to get your own questions. Or leave me a comment with what your answers would be to today’s questions.
- You are Elmer J. Fudd, millionaire. You own a mansion and a yacht. Where do you sail to?
Fiji, I’ve always wanted to go there. - What is the greatest thing since sliced bread?
Knitting.
- Is Elvis still alive?
Absolutely not, if he was he’d have a fit with all these stupid impersonators. - Suppose for a moment you collected autographs. What celebrity autograph would start your collection and what would you have autographed?
I used to collect autographs until I saw Barry Manilow in a frame store in Palm Springs and he was so rude to me. He scarred me for life and I’ll never ask anyone else again. - What is your favorite verb?
Love - Can you make a mountain out of a mole hill?
I’m sure I can, I’m sure I have. Sometimes it’s also necessary. - Do you talk a lot on the phone?
Nope.

I was mentally answering your questions and was thinking about who I would start my autograph collection with and I immediately thought “Barry Manilow!”….until I read your answer. I’m disappointed to hear he was so rude to you as he is a big musical hero of mine. I don’t think I’ll bother pursuing him to Vegas if he is that rude lol!
On a more serious note, I hope you have had a better couple of days than earlier on this week. Keep strong
